Abstract:
Sexism is argued to be a big issue in the Latino Community. This sexism is defined as the prejudice towards women. My research debates whether this discrimination is a problem for the community, and whether it creates health issues in a woman’s body. It consists of articles, websites, and a novel. Each one has a different perspective of the problem in the Latino Culture. In some of the articles and in the novel, real Latino people wrote their life experiences with the issue. The other articles state factual information about how this issue affects a woman’s health, and provides websites that provide insight into how many Latinos view this problem. Apparently, Latinos seem to see nothing wrong with the way they all treat the women in the community, and even the women seem to have no problem with the way they are being treated. Therefore, it is difficult to say whether or not sexism has a negative impact on the Latino culture.
